By Air Flying is by far the easiest way and then getting a hire car. I would recommend flying to Malaga since it has the most airlines flying there and is normally the most competitive. The car hire place is located on the ground floor at the airport and has several operators. Holidayautos.com, and Carjet.com have been very reliable and offer a free second driver, no excess, unlimited miles and only charge an extra 2 euros a day for a roof rack. Here is a guide to the other airports and operators. Skyscanner.com will scan numerous airlines for the cheapest fare.
By Car Its a long drive from the UK. By far the easiest option is the hire car from Malaga. Take the A7 auto route sign posted to Cadiz. You travel through 3 tolls which total about 9 euros. Just beyond Algeciras you get to a windy road over the hills before dropping into Tarifa and getting your first views of the beach. The trip has been done in 1hr 18 minutes! By Bus You could probably drive from the UK in the time it takes you to get the bus. However if you want to get the bus take a train from Malaga airport into Malaga and walk to the main bus station. You then catch the bus to Algeciras. This goes via the coast road so takes a while. Change in Algeciras before finally arriving in Tarifa. The bus stop is by the petrol station on the high street.
